“Female Assailant at Large After Stabbings on Yaletown Seawall”

Three individuals were stabbed near the Yaletown seawall in Vancouver on Friday morning, with the female assailant still at large, according to Vancouver police. The incident occurred close to David Lam Park around 7:30 a.m. local time, as reported by the authorities.

Const. Tania Visintin, a spokesperson for the Vancouver Police Department, mentioned that the victims sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were promptly transported to a hospital for treatment. The police suspect that the stabbings took place in three distinct episodes, possibly just minutes apart.

Visintin informed CBC News that the stabbings seemed to be random and unprovoked, with no prior altercations leading up to the attacks. The suspect is described as a woman of Indigenous descent in her late 20s or early 30s, characterized by long black hair tied in a ponytail and a slender physique. She was noted to be wearing a large black leather jacket, tight pants, and either a leopard-print shirt or scarf.

Law enforcement officers are actively searching the area for surveillance footage to obtain a clearer image of the suspect, as per Visintin’s statement. The community’s apprehension following the incident is acknowledged by the police, particularly for those who frequent the seawall and residents in the vicinity.

Visintin emphasized the potential emotional impact of such random attacks, despite the victims’ expected physical recovery. She urged individuals with any relevant information or video recordings to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation.
