In an unexpected turn of events during the finale of Survivor 50, host Jeff Probst mistakenly revealed a crucial outcome before it aired. The blunder occurred when Probst prematurely announced Rizo Velovic as the loser of the fire-making challenge, inadvertently spoiling the result.
The error unfolded after Aubry Bracco secured her place in the Final Three by winning the final immunity challenge. This left Velovic and Jonathan to face off in the high-stakes fire-making challenge. During a live segment, just before the challenge was set to be shown, Probst brought Velovic onstage to discuss his fire-making skills.
As Probst was about to cut to a commercial break, he disclosed that Velovic would be the last juror of the season, inadvertently revealing that Velovic had lost the challenge and was eliminated. The audience gasped in disbelief as Probst realized his mistake, prompting laughter and cheers as he tried to downplay the blunder as a “Survivor twist.”
Returning from commercial, Probst humorously addressed the situation, labeling it as a unique twist in the season. Despite the unintentional spoiler, Probst jokingly informed viewers that they would witness Velovic losing to Jonathan in the fire-making challenge.
CBS, the broadcaster of the show, has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Ultimately, Bracco emerged as the winner of Survivor Season 50, securing the $2 million prize after defeating Jonathon Young and Joe Hunter in a decisive jury vote.
