Regina Police have announced the arrest of a fifth individual in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in severe injuries to an 11-year-old girl last month. Authorities responded to a residence on Edgar Street around 2 a.m. CST on August 11, where they discovered the young girl with a gunshot wound. She was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment of her serious injuries.
Amber Jensen, aged 29, has been charged with accessory after the fact and conspiracy to commit murder in relation to the case. Jensen appeared in court for the first time in Regina provincial court later that day. The victim’s father disclosed to CBC News that his home was targeted with a barrage of 23 gunshots that night, one of which struck his daughter.
The girl has since recovered and returned to school, as confirmed by her father. For safety concerns, the father’s identity is being withheld by CBC News. Four other individuals have already been apprehended in connection with the incident.
Among those arrested are Anthony Nahbexie, 20, and Devon Nahbexie, 18, who face charges of attempted murder, reckless discharge of a firearm, and conspiracy to commit murder. Additionally, Noah Pollock-Mayer, 18, and Michael Mayer, 41, have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and Regina police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
