Leylah Fernandez of Canada secured a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Dalma Galfi from Hungary during the Japan Open tennis tournament held in Osaka. Fernandez, hailing from Laval, Quebec, recorded one ace and three double faults while successfully breaking her opponent’s serve three times out of eight opportunities available.
In terms of serve performance, Fernandez excelled by winning 78% of her first-serve points, outshining Galfi who managed to secure only 55% in comparison. On the other hand, Galfi managed three aces and two double faults but missed the chance to convert her single break-point opportunity.
Fernandez’s next challenge will be against Rebecca Sramkova from Slovakia in the upcoming match.
