In the crucial 10th game of the third set, Auger-Aliassime had a double-break point that could have sealed the match, but Dzumhur fought back, saving three match points to level the set at 5-5. The deciding tiebreak saw Dzumhur take a 4-3 lead before Auger-Aliassime rallied, winning four of the next five points to clinch the victory.
Ranked 13th in the world, the 25-year-old Auger-Aliassime is set to face American qualifier Eliot Spizzirri in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 hardcourt event. This match marks the second meeting between Auger-Aliassime and Dzumhur at the ATP Tour level, with their previous encounter dating back to 2020 in Montpellier, France.
