“Céline Dion Releases Romantic French Ballad ‘Dansons'”

Published:

Céline Dion, the renowned Canadian icon, has released a new single titled “Dansons,” a gentle and romantic French-language ballad that translates to “Let’s dance” in English. The accompanying music video exudes romance, showcasing couples dancing freely in various locations across Paris, embracing the joy of dance without inhibitions.

This new single marks Dion’s return to the music scene, coinciding with her upcoming series of 16 performances at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17. Speculation about her comeback was confirmed following the appearance of mysterious signs in Paris featuring lyrics from Dion’s popular songs like “My Heart Will Go On” and “The Power of Love.”

Having been absent from the stage due to health issues that led to the cancellation of her last world tour, Dion’s collaboration with renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman on “Dansons” marks her first French release in more than a decade and her first original song in years. Their successful partnership dates back to previous projects like “Encore un soir” in 2016 and her record-breaking 1995 album “D’eux.”

In 2023, Dion faced challenges with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition affecting her singing ability, prompting the cancellation of her “Courage” world tour that was initially postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a hiatus, Dion returned to the public stage in July 2024 with a moving rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymn to Love” during the Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, paying tribute to designer Elie Saab’s illustrious career.
