Cloey Uddenberg scored the decisive goal in the 34th minute, leading AFC Toronto to a 2-1 victory over Calgary Wild FC in Northern Super League action on Saturday. Uddenberg’s goal gave Toronto a 2-0 lead, with Jorian Baucom pulling one back for Calgary just before halftime. Kaylee Hunter also found the net for Toronto in the 19th minute.
Toronto, currently riding a six-game unbeaten streak (4 wins, 2 draws), has not suffered a defeat since August 17 when they lost 1-0 to Vancouver. In contrast, Calgary has struggled, losing six of their last seven matches, with their only win coming on August 16 against Halifax.
Up next, Toronto will face Montreal at home on Sunday, October 19, while Calgary will host Halifax the following Saturday. The inaugural Final of the Northern Super League is set to take place on November 15 at Toronto’s BMO Field, where the Diana B. Matheson Cup will be awarded in honor of the league’s co-founder.
