Celebrity Big Brother risked a bullying row after a group of housemates were branded “toxic” for their actions.
Danny Beard and Ella Rae Wise were joined by Jack P Shepherd in sneakily opening a bag of popcorn belonging to JoJo Siwa. The action was in retaliation for JoJo and Chris Hughes’ latest rule breaking. After Chris and JoJo were caught sharing secret messages they were punished by needing to speak into a microphone.
“That’s not a punishment, that’s a punishment for us. They’re laughing because they’re annoying us,” Daley said, as Angellica said: “Big Brother likes to put a cat amongst the pigeons.”
The unimpressed housemates, including Danny then stormed to the food room and took JoJo’s popcorn. As he ripped open the bag, they tucked in without JoJo knowing. With a mouthful of the treat, Ella said: “It’s even better when it’s hers,” as she and Angellica said they loved popcorn.
But the action was met with fume by viewers online, with many taking to Twitter/X to vent their displeasure. One user questioned: “Why are they being so toxic,” while another slammed the action as: “Embarrassing childish bully behaviour.”
A third said: “Is Ella fuming because Chris doesn’t fancy her and gets along with JoJo? Get a life. #cbbuk,” while a fourth added: “Ella is actually obsessed with Chris and Jojo! Bore off and let them have fun! #cbbuk” “I don’t find that very funny and it’s bordering bullying atp [at this point] get Ella OUT!! Danny is getting just as bad,” fumed another.
Later on, JoJo admitted to Big Brother what her secret message to Chris was about. When quizzed about it in the Diary Room, she said: “It’s something that I’m not ready necessarily to be open about or upfront about but it has to do with gender and how do I feel.”
She went on: “Let’s put it this way. Oh my God, this is a lot. Essentially, you have female, you have male. I’ve met a lot of females and love them but don’t feel like I’m them. Met a lot of males, love them but definitely not them.”
Elsewhere on the episode, Trisha Goddard flippantly noted ‘I’ve survived worse’ amid her terminal cancer diagnosis as she spoke to Angellica Bell about the growing tensions in the house.
Trisha, 67, has stage four breast cancer, meaning it’s treatable but not curable. She is currently being treated by a palliative care team after having a major treatment just before entering the house. Trisha first fought the disease in 2008, but was sadly diagnosed in 2023 for a second time.
Speaking on Tuesday’s show, the TV legend shared: “I kind of realised – I know the big ‘C’ comes up a lot – here’s a holiday from it. Do you get me? I can just have fun and things like that, and then when I get back out I’m sort of-“
Angellica cut in: “Back to it? Back to reality, it’s sort of a bubble isn’t it?” Trisha agreed, saying: “It’s a bubble, as I say it’s been my respite – not that I expected it to be, I’m completely surprised by that. It’s been a respite from treatment and stuff.”
She later explained she is “liking the distractions” in the house.
