Liam Payne’s sister Ruth ‘gasping for air’ as she pays tribute to 1D singer

Liam Payne’s sister Ruth shared a heartbreaking tribute to the One Direction singer on the six-month anniversary of his death. The Strip That Down singer died on October 16 after plunging from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

On April 16, Ruth took to her Instagram page to reveal she sometimes ‘hears him laughing at her walking around like Whoopi Goldberg in Ghost.’ She said: “6 months, half a year without you?! My head is still screaming for you. Each morning on waking, I feel like I am plunged underwater, gasping for air that never comes to relieve me.

“Living without you is impossible, so for now, I exist. I’m learning to laugh or smile in the right places, but mate, it’s exhausting when all I want to do is speak to you.

“In the few moments I allow myself to feel love and not just loss, I can really smile at memories of us, like last year when we were doubled over laughing at us trying to make something we’d seen on youtube, but memories are always tinged with sadness at how unfair it is we can’t make new ones.

“I can sometimes hear you laughing at me walking around like Whoopi Goldberg in ‘ghost’, looking for you everywhere I go. I see you though, you’re always coming through in different ways to put me back on the right path.”

Ruth continued: “I can’t process what’s happened and the finality of it, you know I will never stop doing all I can for you.

“I miss you loudly, quietly and in all the moments inbetween. Love you so much more than these words or my tears are capable of expressing but I know you know this. For now, I’ll meet you in my dreams.”

Louis Tomlinson’s sister, Phoebe commented on the post in support of her. She said: “Sending so much love,” while Niall Horan’s brother Greg wrote: “Lots of love Ruth to yee all we are always gonna think of yee we were 5 families and became 1D family we are all hear for you guys.”

Not long after Liam’s death, Ruth said she was struggling to comprehend that week’s tragic events and all she wanted to do was ‘drive to her brother’s house and speak to him’.

Liam was on holiday in Argentina when he died. He had been in the South American country with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who flew home earlier, as well as his pal Roger Nores.

Businessman Nores was charged for involuntary manslaughter over Liam’s death before being cleared of any wrongdoing on February 19.

Liam’s death was caused from “multiple trauma” and “internal and external haemorrhage.” There were multiple drugs found in his system at the time of his death including benzodiazepines, crack, and pink cocaine.
