Robbie Williams has left fans concerned after sharing some introspective thoughts during a late-night Instagram session. The 51 year old pop icon, known for his time with Take That, posted in the early hours of Monday morning, revealing that he was grappling with a thought that “won’t let him sleep”.
In a candid moment, Robbie uploaded three pages of text to Instagram, expressing that he’s “surviving his own personality”. His message read: “Some days it’s not self-improvement. It’s self-containment. Just making sure the chaos doesn’t spill on the carpet.”
Delving deeper, the star shared his desire to “know himself completely” and to grasp his own thought processes. Robbie openly pondered his expectations from life and what boundaries he should set. In a concerning note, he admitted: “Seeing as I have something inside me that wants to sabotage, cause chaos – and, even darker still, see me leave this planet.”

His reflective post didn’t stop there; Robbie mused over the “hellish” nature of life lessons and questioned whether he was “good enough” for “the next place”. He concluded with a personal admission: “First thing I notice: I treat myself really badly. If anything, right now, I guess the answer is love. And with that… I’ve just had a revelation. I’ve got some work to do,” reports the Express.
Robbie Williams’ 3.3 million Instagram followers quickly offered their support following a troubling update, with one fan urging, “You wrote a song Love My Life, Rob you need this as your mantra you have to love yourself cause you are beautiful, praise yourself, compliment yourself and a change will start to happen those wolves will quieten and not appear as often love starts with you believe in it and yourself.”
Another follower expressed concern, saying: “What a deep thinkling, Rob. Making me worried about you.” Meanwhile, a third checked in with heartfelt advice, commenting: “Please learn to love yourself. You have done so much in your life what you can be proud of!”
These reactions come after Robbie disclosed his recent struggles with depression for the first time in ten years, he previously told The Mirror: “The year started with some ill mental health, which I haven’t had for a very, very long time. I was sad, I was anxious, I was depressed.”
Confronting mental health issues is nothing new for the star, but he admitted being baffled by their return: “It’s been about 10 years… I thought I was at the other end of the arc. I thought this was the end of my story, and that I would just go walking into this marvellous wonderland. So for it to return was just confusing.”
The comeback of these challenges coincides with his recent family tribulations; in November, Robbie shared the news of his mother Janet’s dementia diagnosis—a poignant moment, considering his father Pete’s Parkinson’s disclosure four years prior.
