Bell Media has successfully secured a deal with Disney Entertainment to broadcast the Québécois French version of “The Simpsons,” ensuring the continuation of the beloved series. Season 36 of “Les Simpson” will be showcased on Bell Media’s Noovo television channel and will also be available for streaming on Crave during the fall season.
Last year, fans expressed outrage when Corus Entertainment, a competitor of Bell Media, chose not to renew the broadcast rights, forcing French-speaking viewers to resort to watching newer seasons in European French. Responding to public sentiment, an online petition garnered thousands of signatures advocating for the preservation of the Québécois dubbing, which has incorporated local references, politicians, current events, and popular phrases over the course of 35 seasons.
In a heartening announcement on Noovo’s social media, Bart and Lisa Simpson joyfully shared the news in their familiar Québécois French voices, bringing relief to local audiences. While the Québécois seasons are typically one year behind the American version, which commenced its 37th season in September, fans can still enjoy streaming seasons one to 35 in Québécois French on Disney+.
