Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently probing a murder case following the discovery of a deceased 25-year-old man in a secluded location near Torrance, Ont. The incident was reported on Monday when Bracebridge OPP officials were alerted to the body found in a remote spot close to Hardy Lake Road around noon, according to a statement by provincial police.
The victim has been identified as Tyler Penasse, a resident of West Nipissing, Ont., located approximately 60 kilometers east of Sudbury. The investigation has now escalated to a homicide inquiry subsequent to a post-mortem examination conducted in Toronto on Wednesday, as mentioned by OPP spokesperson Ashley Taylor via email.
Authorities are urging individuals who may possess any information or dashcam recordings from the areas of Hardy Lake Road, Torrance, Bala, Wahta, or Gravenhurst between September 14 and 15 to reach out to the police or anonymously provide tips through Crime Stoppers. The OPP emphasized on social media that even seemingly unrelated footage could hold significance for the ongoing investigation.
