Beautiful UK village with ‘really fancy houses’ where everybody wants to live

    Published on:

Kent, with its rolling green hills and bustling towns, offers a wealth of attractions for all tastes. Whether you’re a fan of the seaside or prefer the tranquillity of the countryside, Kent has something for everyone. One of its standout features is the charming villages scattered around the larger towns, particularly in the county’s west.

The areas surrounding Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks are home to some truly picturesque villages that are growing in popularity. Among these is Plaxtol, previously named as Kent’s top place to live by Muddy Stilettos. Locals have nothing but praise for their village, saying that once people move there, they rarely want to leave.

Plaxtol stands out as one of the few villages that isn’t a ‘through village’, making it an oasis of peace and tranquillity. With its stunning countryside views and cosy pubs, it’s easy to see why it’s so beloved.

Located roughly five miles from both Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, two of Kent’s major towns are just a short drive away.

Plus, there are several equally beautiful villages within walking distance, perfect for a leisurely Sunday morning walk, reports Kent Live.

But perhaps the best thing about Plaxtol is the strong sense of community. The friendly locals take immense pride in their village shop, which sits at the heart of the community.

But the village has more to offer than just its picturesque setting. It boasts a primary school, a church, a grocer, a florist and a charming pub, ensuring all your needs are catered for right on your doorstep.

While rural villages can often pose travel challenges, this isn’t an issue for Plaxtol residents. They’re only a 10-15 minute drive from the A21, providing easy access to the motorway network via the M25 and M26.

The homes in Plaxtol are rather swanky too, with the average house price hovering just under £720k.

Over the past year, most of the properties sold were terraced houses, fetching an average price of £436,250.

Detached properties commanded an average price of £1,278,955, while semi-detached homes went for around £538,333, according to Rightmove data.
