M&S ‘comfiest ever’ £39 trainers ‘feel like air’ and ‘look like Skechers’

Marks and Spencer shoppers are convinced they’ve found the ‘comfiest trainers imaginable’, likening the sensation of wearing them to ‘walking on air’. Some shoppers even compare them to high-end brand Skechers due to how comfortable they are.

Marks and Spencer, a retail giant in the UK, enjoys a massive following for its extensive range of apparel, accessories, and footwear. The retailer’s latest spring trainers have won over customers, earning numerous positive reviews and an impressive average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Priced at £39.50, the Knitted Slip On Trainers are available in four colour schemes: all-black, black and white, navy and white, and grey and white.

Shoppers can also select from 11 sizes, including half-sizes. Described as “understated”, these Knitted Slip On Trainers feature Marks and Spencer’s Freshfeet technology in the footbed, which is treated to be antibacterial and combat odour. They are designed with a flat heel to ensure a “comfortable” experience, reports the Liverpool Echo.

With a knitted upper design, these trainers offer a “modern” aesthetic. The Knitted Slip On Trainers form part of the ‘M&S Collection’ at Marks and Spencer, which is known for its wearable staples that merge timeless style with modern flair.

The Knitted Slip On Trainers are vegan-friendly, using no animal-derived materials, and boast Marks and Spencer’s Insolia Flex technology, which promises to make walking in flats a more enjoyable experience. This technology ensures your foot is positioned just right in your shoes, supporting the natural movement of your foot as you walk.

The Knitted Slip On Trainers have received an abundance of 5-star rave reviews. One customer, Ollie, praised: “These are the most comfortable trainers/shoes ever.” Lynda was equally thrilled, writing: “Got the grey ones last year. Now have the black ones as well. They are the comfiest trainers imaginable. Price is very reasonable too.”

Multiple reviewers praised the shoes’ comfort, such as one shopper who wrote: “Really comfortable! Great for wearing with jeans and trousers!! An everyday classic.” Another reviewer echoed this sentiment, saying: “Most comfy trainers I have bought.”

A fifth shopper wrote: “Lovely, excellent, comfortable shoe and bought to enjoy walking on holiday.” Pryce wholeheartedly agreed, commenting: “The comfiest footwear I possess! Just feels like your walking on air!”

Impressively, a couple of reviewers drew comparisons between the Knitted Slip On Trainers and a well-known premium brand, saying they offered similar comfort levels for a lower price point. Ger mentioned: “These are just as comfortable as Sketchers and a bit cheaper.” Dawn said: “Excellent fit and exactly like sketchers but half the price. I bought two pairs.”

However, the Knitted Slip On Trainers aren’t to everyone’s liking. A dissatisfied customer remarked: “These were far too tight and I am only a 3 they pinched my toes badly.”

Fozia expressed discontent saying: “Not comfortable to walk in for walks or shopping the arch of the foot hurts.” Gilbee pointed out: “Obviously, they are not Sketchers, who are the true slip-ins. You need a shoe horn for these! Otherwise, they’re ok.”

For those in the market for footwear akin to Marks and Spencer’s Knitted Slip On Trainers, there’s no shortage of alternatives. Amazon is offering Breathable Lightweight Shock Absorbing Sport Cross Trainers at £17.99. Shoppers have an array of sizes and colours to select from, along with a respectable average customer review score of 4 out of 5.

A similar but sturdier option is available at New Look with its Black Leather-Look Slip On Trainers for £19.99. A pair of Black Knitted Slip On Trainers are also on sale at Argos for just £16.
