A household of 10 individuals has been forced to find alternative accommodation following a fire incident at their residence in Pembroke, Ontario. The Pembroke Fire Department responded to the emergency on Wallace Street shortly after 10 a.m. Chief Scott Selle mentioned in a news release that upon arrival, firefighters observed flames emerging from a bedroom window, progressing towards the roof and attic.
Despite the swift action by firefighters to extinguish the fire, the house experienced significant smoke and heat damage. Initially, there were concerns about a missing individual, but everyone was eventually located and confirmed safe. Medical assistance was provided to one person at the scene, while another individual was transported to a local hospital in Pembroke for further treatment.
The Pembroke Fire Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire and the extent of the damages incurred by the residence.
