“Drake’s ‘Iceman’ Album Release Lights Up CN Tower”

Published:

Anil Mohabir expressed his surreal excitement following a recent collaboration with Drake to unveil the Toronto rapper’s latest music. Mohabir played a key role in projecting an icy blue wave of light onto the CN Tower, complemented by a fireworks display that illuminated downtown Toronto’s waterfront. This unique event marked the release of three albums at midnight: the highly anticipated “Iceman” along with surprise drops “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.”

The intricate projection involved intricate 3D animation that simulated the tower freezing in real-time, culminating in a captivating lighting display at the tower’s peak. Mohabir, the founder of Studio AM, a prominent digital design studio in Toronto, orchestrated the project with only three weeks’ notice. The collaboration required coordination with various teams, including the CN Tower’s lighting crews, Transport Canada, and the City of Toronto. Approximately 300 individuals, along with 75 projectors sourced locally and internationally, were involved in bringing the ambitious vision to life.

The projectors, each valued at around $200,000, and their accompanying lenses contributed to a total equipment worth exceeding $15 million. Mohabir shared that the moment the projection went live, there was a sense of awe among the team. Prior to the CN Tower event, Mohabir organized a live stream featuring Drake riding in an “Iceman”-branded truck through the city, adding to the anticipation surrounding the album release.

Drake’s series of attention-grabbing stunts, including leaving massive ice blocks around the city and transforming his courtside seats at the Toronto Raptors’ home stadium into ice, have generated significant buzz. Mohabir emphasized Drake’s commitment to showcasing Canadian talent and uplifting the city’s creative community. As a Toronto native, Mohabir expressed gratitude for the opportunity to turn innovative ideas into reality through collaborations with Drake.
