“Sabrina Carpenter Obtains Restraining Order Against Stalker”

Published:

Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter has obtained a temporary restraining order against an individual who attempted to enter her residence in Los Angeles without permission, describing the incidents as deeply concerning. Court documents reveal that Carpenter’s legal team is pursuing a permanent restraining order against William Applegate, aged 31.

In a sworn statement, Carpenter detailed how on May 23, Applegate unlawfully accessed a neighbor’s property to breach the security fencing surrounding her home. Subsequently, he approached her front door and forcibly tried to gain entry by grabbing the handle. Carpenter emphasized the intentional and aggressive nature of Applegate’s actions, labeling them as a severe breach of her safety and privacy.

Carpenter expressed ongoing fear for her safety due to Applegate’s behavior, citing Ring security camera footage capturing him at her doorstep. Despite intervention from her private security, Applegate allegedly refused to depart and falsely claimed familiarity with Carpenter, which she refuted as entirely baseless.

Following Applegate’s initial arrest, Carpenter reported that he returned less than a day later and loitered outside her residence for an extended period. This behavior persisted over subsequent days, with Applegate parking near her gate until law enforcement intervened. The court filing includes images of Applegate’s vehicle as evidence.

Describing Applegate’s conduct as a pattern of stalking and intrusion, Carpenter highlighted the emotional distress it has caused her. Security investigations revealed that Applegate’s fixation on Carpenter had escalated significantly since at least April 20, 2026, with Detective Peter Doomanis of the Los Angeles Police Department characterizing his behavior as disturbing and irrational.

A judge has mandated that Applegate must maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Carpenter, her residence, vehicle, workplace, as well as her sister and sister’s boyfriend who reside with her. A court hearing is scheduled for June 17, with Applegate facing criminal trespassing charges in a separate court appearance on June 18.
