After a series of mysterious hints, including a massive ice block installation in downtown Toronto and a CN Tower takeover, Drake finally unveiled his highly anticipated ninth studio album, “Iceman,” along with two surprise albums, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.” The surprise releases came out at midnight alongside “Iceman,” with Drake revealing the projects during his recent livestream, titled “Iceman Episode 4.” In total, Drake dropped 43 songs, totaling around two and a half hours, with “Iceman” being the focal point.

Drake had been teasing “Iceman” for some time, first mentioning it in August 2024 following his well-known rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. During his Australia tour in 2025, Drake hinted that the album would offer a personal connection with his fans, emphasizing it as a necessary listen.

While Drake collaborated on the album “Some Sexy Songs 4 U” with PartyNextDoor in 2025, these releases mark his first solo albums since 2023’s “For all the Dogs.” The stakes are high for Drake, known as the crown prince of rap, and he is close to breaking Michael Jackson’s record for the most No. 1 songs.

Drake wastes no time addressing his feud with Kendrick Lamar on the intro track of “Iceman,” titled “Make Them Cry.” He reflects on the aftermath of the beef and its effects, hinting at a new chapter in his life. Throughout “Iceman,” Drake delves into the feud, taking shots at various personalities, including Lamar, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, DeMar DeRozan, LeBron James, Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, and even questioning his bond with J. Cole.

The album is filled with references to past beef incidents, with Drake showcasing his lyrical prowess and addressing various confrontations. The visuals for “Iceman” focus on Toronto landmarks, showcasing Drake’s connection to his hometown through iconic locations like Sotto Sotto and the CN Tower.

Furthermore, Drake’s music videos highlight Canadian symbols and locations, adding a local touch to his work. The video for “Slap the City” features Drake donning a fur jacket adorned with logos of Canadian brands, emphasizing his roots and connection to Canada.

In addition to “Iceman,” Drake surprised fans with two other albums, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” each exploring different musical styles and themes. “Habibti” delves into love songs, while “Maid of Honour” offers a mix of dancehall, house, Afro-swing, and U.K. rap, catering to diverse musical tastes and moods.

With these releases, Drake continues to showcase his versatility as an artist, delivering a range of sounds and emotions across the three albums. Fans can expect a blend of introspection, celebration, and musical experimentation from the Toronto rapper’s latest offerings.
