Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers has been fined $2,500 by the NHL Department of Safety for a slashing incident involving Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid. The incident took place during the third period of the Canucks’ 3-1 defeat against the Oilers. Myers was seen making contact with McDavid in the groin area with his stick as McDavid was moving towards the net without the puck. Although no penalty was initially called, Myers was later penalized for delay of game at 9:07 of the same period.
