“Fatal Collision in London: 67-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pickup Truck Chase”

Published:

A 67-year-old female passed away following a collision involving a pickup truck evading authorities in London, Ontario’s Woodfield district on September 10. The incident transpired at Queens Avenue and William Street at approximately 3 p.m. ET, where the woman, accompanied by a 70-year-old male, was in an SUV that collided with the pickup. Both individuals sustained severe injuries and were hospitalized, as was a 45-year-old passenger who was in the truck’s cargo area.

The fatality was confirmed by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the agency investigating the occurrence. Law enforcement initially spotted the pickup truck in the vicinity of King and Maitland streets with a person in the truck bed. When a police officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the scene. Upon arrival at the crash site, officers discovered that the pickup’s driver had absconded on foot.

A fourth individual was also hospitalized with minor injuries, though it remains uncertain whether this person was a passenger in either vehicle involved in the collision. Details regarding the conditions of the other injured parties still in the hospital and the whereabouts of the fleeing suspect have not been disclosed.

The SIU encourages anyone with relevant information, such as videos or photos of the crash, to report to them through phone or online channels.
