Stephen Eustaquio will be absent from Canada’s upcoming match versus Wales following a lower-body injury sustained in the friendly match against Romania. The 28-year-old midfielder has departed the Canadian camp to receive further assessment at his Portuguese club, FC Porto.

Eustaquio, who led the 28th-ranked Canadian team, played the entire 90 minutes during the 3-0 victory over 48th-ranked Romania in Bucharest, earning his 51st cap.

Canada is facing multiple absences due to injuries to key players such as Alphonso Davies, Moise Bombito, Alistair Johnston, Sam Adekugbe, Liam Millar, and Daniel Jebbison. Additionally, Cyle Larin missed the Romania game as he awaited the birth of his child.

However, there is a positive note as Jacob Shaffelburg is set to return from suspension for the upcoming match against 31st-ranked Wales in Swansea.
