“Josh Ross and Cameron Whitcomb Shine at CCMA Awards”

Canadian Country Music Association Awards saw Ontario singer Josh Ross and former American Idol contestant Cameron Whitcomb winning two awards each.

The event kicked off by presenting the breakthrough performer trophy to Whitcomb, who hails from Nanaimo, B.C., and thanked his supporters for helping him through tough times with his track Quitter.

Whitcomb expressed his gratitude for the fans’ support and won the fans’ choice award as well.

Ross, a former college football player turned country artist, received the entertainer of the year award and also won single of the year for his hit song Single Again.

Ross shared the inspiration behind his track, which recounts a real-life encounter with a past crush, during his acceptance speech.

Comedian Tom Green hosted the show in Kelowna, B.C., for the third time, bringing his unique humor to the event and entertaining the audience with his musical performance.

Jade Eagleson from Ontario won the male artist of the year award, while MacKenzie Porter from Alberta secured the best female artist title for the second consecutive year.

Owen Riegling, a musician from Mildmay, Ont., was honored with the album of the year award for his debut record, Bruce County (From The Beginning).

Riegling expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support, allowing him to fulfill his childhood dream of making music.

Tom Green’s Hosting and Performances

Comedian Tom Green entertained the audience with his hosting duties, including a special chat with Whitcomb and a memorable performance at the event.

Furthermore, the night featured a captivating performance by Porter and Jake Etheridge, known as Thelma & James, followed by a chat with Porter about her balancing act between solo and duo careers.
