Israel’s Defense Minister issued a directive on Wednesday for all remaining Palestinians in Gaza City to evacuate, emphasizing it as their final chance. Those opting to stay were warned of being viewed as supporters of militants and facing severe repercussions from Israel’s ongoing offensive.
Local hospitals reported the deaths of at least 16 Palestinians across Gaza, while Hamas assessed a new peace proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump, aiming to resolve the conflict and secure the release of captives taken during the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack that initiated the hostilities.
Since the commencement of Israel’s significant offensive last month aimed at gaining control of Gaza City, approximately 400,000 Palestinians have fled the city due to dire conditions. However, many individuals remain behind, citing financial constraints or physical limitations hindering their relocation to temporary camps in the southern region.
Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized the urgency for Gaza residents to relocate southwards to isolate Hamas militants within Gaza City. He stated that individuals choosing to remain would be labeled as terrorists or supporters of terrorism.
Multiple casualties were reported in Gaza following Israeli strikes at various locations, including a school housing displaced individuals, a gathering near a water tank, and residential areas.
