Cirkut, a renowned producer from Halifax and a previous Grammy winner, leads the Canadian nominations with seven nods. His nominations include Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, for his work on Lady Gaga’s album “Mayhem” and Ed Sheeran’s “Play,” among others. Cirkut is also nominated for Record of the Year for Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and Bruno Mars and Rosé’s “Apt,” as well as Album of the Year for “Mayhem” and Best Dance Pop Recording for “Abracadabra.”
Tate McRae, a rising pop star from Calgary, earned her first Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording for her track “Just Keep Watching” from the “F1” soundtrack. However, The Weeknd, despite ending his Grammy boycott, did not receive any nominations for his album “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” released within the eligibility period. Notably, Cirkut was nominated for his production contributions to The Weeknd’s album.
