Canada and the United States have announced their joint hosting of the 2027 women’s world volleyball championship. The final matches will take place in Anaheim, California, as disclosed by Volleyball Canada, USA Volleyball, and the FIVB on Friday. Additional details such as the four more host cities for pool play and the Round of 16, along with the tournament schedule, are set to be revealed at a later time.
This event will mark the debut of both Canada and the U.S. as hosts for the tournament. Two Canadian and two American cities will be responsible for hosting pool play and the Round of 16 in this 32-country competition. The U.S. secured a fifth-place finish at the 2025 world championship held in Thailand, while Canada ended in 15th place.
Mark Eckert, President and CEO of Volleyball Canada, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the tournament, stating, “The growth of volleyball and interest in women’s sports create an ideal environment to bring this display of the highest level of our sport to North American fans for the first time ever. We’re very excited to build on our knowledge of hosting major events, such as Volleyball Nations League, and take the athlete and spectator experience to the next level.”
