Dolly Parton has delayed her Las Vegas residency for the first time in 32 years, citing health challenges. The country music icon made the announcement through social media, explaining that she needs to undergo some medical procedures. Parton humorously likened it to a 100,000-mile checkup, emphasizing the importance of being in top form for her fans who invest in seeing her perform.
Originally set for December 2025, the six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been rescheduled to September 2026. Parton assured ticket holders that their tickets will remain valid for the new dates and that refunds will also be an option. She expressed her commitment to her career but acknowledged the need to slow down temporarily to prepare for future endeavors.
Despite occasional live performances, Parton has not embarked on a tour since 2016. However, she has not slowed down creatively, with an upcoming book release and a Broadway musical inspired by her life story set to debut in 2026. Earlier health issues, including a recent kidney stone problem, have prompted the singer to prioritize her well-being and take necessary breaks when required.
In a sad turn of events, Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, passed away earlier this year at the age of 82. The private figure, who was married to Parton for almost six decades, inspired her iconic song “Jolene.” Parton continues to navigate personal challenges while maintaining her legacy as a beloved entertainer.
