Toronto police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred in a residential highrise building in Scarborough on Tuesday evening. The deceased, identified as 67-year-old Robert Dawson from Toronto, was pronounced dead at the scene, making him the 28th homicide victim in the city this year.

Authorities have charged a 43-year-old woman, who is known to have no fixed address, with second-degree murder in connection with Dawson’s death. The incident took place following a report of a stabbing at the intersection of Kingston and Galloway roads around 6:50 p.m. Responding officers discovered Dawson with severe injuries, and despite efforts by Toronto paramedics to save him, he succumbed to his wounds at the scene.

The woman was swiftly apprehended in the vicinity shortly after the incident. Police have revealed that the suspect and the victim were acquainted with each other, prompting homicide detectives to lead the ongoing investigation.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court in Toronto the following morning. Authorities are encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
