Rapper Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was taken into custody by Los Angeles police after an incident on Thursday. The police responded to a report of a naked individual walking on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City and encountered Lil Nas X, who allegedly charged at them.
Following the confrontation, Lil Nas X was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer and was briefly hospitalized due to concerns of a possible drug overdose. He was later released from the hospital and taken to Valley Jail in Van Nuys for further processing.
A video obtained by TMZ depicted Lil Nas X on the street in just underwear and boots. The 26-year-old artist, known for his hit song “Old Town Road” that topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a record 19 weeks, has gained recognition for his innovative music and style. His latest album, “Montero,” reached number two on the Billboard album chart and earned a Grammy nomination for album of the year.
Efforts to reach Lil Nas X’s representatives for comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
