“Nazi Symbol Carved in Lawn: Couple Faces Criminal Charges”

Published:

A disturbing incident involving a swastika being carved into a residence’s front lawn in St. Thomas, Ontario, has led to criminal charges against a couple. The woman involved, Julia Majkutewicz, was suspended from her nursing position due to derogatory remarks about immigrants, refugees, and individuals with addictions. Majkutewicz, who worked at a rehab facility in Guelph, was suspended following a disciplinary hearing in September. The Nazi symbol was discovered on the lawn of the residence owned by Majkutewicz and her partner, Timothy Van Sickle. Both individuals have been charged by the Ontario Provincial Police with various criminal offenses, including criminal harassment and incitement of hatred.

Neighbors revealed that the couple had a history of playing loud white supremacist music and posting Nazi-related content on social media. Majkutewicz and Van Sickle have appeared in court and are currently in custody. The offensive symbol was removed from the lawn shortly after its discovery.

Majkutewicz’s nursing license was suspended for six months by the College of Nurses of Ontario due to her inappropriate behavior towards patients and colleagues. She is expected to regain her license in March 2026 but must undergo additional training and inform future employers about her disciplinary history. Both Majkutewicz and Van Sickle are scheduled to appear in court again later this month.
