The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is expressing suspicions of foul play in the case of a 51-year-old mother of three who went missing in February. The disappearance of Jennifer Provencal has raised concerns as she was not reported missing until almost three months later, when her absence was noticed by a sister living in a different part of the country.
Provencal was last seen on February 5 near her rural property in Forest Grove, a small community located outside 100 Mile House, approximately 300 kilometers northeast of Vancouver. According to her husband, Thomas Boulding, an argument occurred between them, after which he left the house. Upon his return, he discovered that she was no longer there.
Boulding mentioned in an interview with CBC News that Provencal had left the home on previous occasions, and he assumed that she would eventually contact him as she had done before. However, her sister, Johanne Provencal, who resides in Montreal, was unaware of her disappearance for weeks due to the lack of communication channels at the off-grid property where the couple lived.
After finally making contact with Boulding and learning about her sister’s absence, Johanne Provencal filed a police report on April 21. Boulding, on the other hand, expressed his belief that Provencal had chosen to leave of her own accord, citing her independent nature and previous instances of leaving without notice.
Despite Boulding’s assertions, Provencal’s family remains puzzled by her sudden disappearance, noting that it was out of character for her not to inform anyone of her whereabouts. The RCMP major crimes unit is currently conducting an investigation into the case and has indicated that foul play is suspected.
Authorities have conducted searches on Provencal’s property, supported by Boulding’s cooperation in providing relevant information and personal belongings. The RCMP is urging anyone with information to come forward, as the family seeks answers and closure regarding the mysterious disappearance of Jennifer Provencal.
