Did you miss out on purchasing the Shane Hollander Team Canada Fleece from Heated Rivalry? You’re not alone.
Shortly after the debut of Crave’s popular hockey romance series, a craze erupted over the Team Canada zip-up fleece worn by the character Hollander, portrayed by Canadian actor Hudson Williams. This white zip-up was sported by the character during the Sochi Olympic scenes in the show’s second episode.
The highly anticipated fleece went on sale at 12 p.m. ET on Tuesday. In just 10 minutes, it completely sold out, as confirmed by Province of Canada, the Canadian brand responsible for the release, in an email to CBC News on Wednesday.
Exclusively available on the store’s website, the fleece is priced at $356 Cdn and is set to be shipped to customers in October. Ten percent of the net profits will be donated to You Can Play, a non-profit organization focused on promoting 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion in sports.
The NHL and NHL Players’ Association will match donations up to a total of $50,000.
“We selected You Can Play because their steadfast commitment to inclusivity aligns with the core values of Heated Rivalry,” stated Jacob Tierney, the show’s creator, and Brendan Brady, the show’s producer, in a press release.
The Heated Rivalry flame is still burning bright. The show’s co-star Hudson Williams and showrunner Jacob Tierney stopped by on the Canadian Screen Awards red carpet to reflect on the show’s impact and community reception. The beloved hockey drama ended the night with 16 awards, including best drama series and best lead performer for Williams.
The jacket is not an official Team Canada merchandise item, but fans have been clamoring for it since the show aired.
“In response to fan demand, we are releasing the fleece,” stated the apparel company on its website and social media back in January.
