Yves Veggie Cuisine, a well-known Canadian plant-based food company, is set to be discontinued after four decades in operation, as confirmed by its parent company to CBC News. The brand, known for its range of meat alternatives including deli slices such as ham, turkey, and salami, as well as veggie burgers, meatballs, and hot dogs made from soy and other plant-based proteins, will no longer be available due to the declining trend in the meat-free category. Hain Celestial Group, the U.S.-based food company that owns the brand, stated that the decision to discontinue Yves Veggie Cuisine was a difficult one due to the ongoing challenges in sustaining the business.
Despite the discontinuation, Yves Veggie Cuisine has not been acquired by another company. However, consumers can still purchase its products in stores until the fall and early winter. The spokesperson expressed gratitude to loyal customers who have supported the brand over the years and acknowledged the disappointment this news may bring to them. The company appreciates the trust and commitment shown by consumers throughout the brand’s journey.
