Gunshots near Rihanna’s home lead to arrest

Published:

Los Angeles police apprehended a woman for allegedly firing gunshots near the residence of renowned singer Rihanna, as per police officials and media reports. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and it remains uncertain if Rihanna was present at the time of the incident on Sunday.

Law enforcement responded to a report of gunfire near a property in the Beverly Hills district, stated spokesperson Officer Charles Miller on Monday. Subsequently, a 35-year-old woman was taken into custody without any further incidents, and authorities recovered a firearm. The suspect faces charges of attempted murder and is being held on a $10 million bail. The district attorney is yet to announce formal charges.

Although the identity of the homeowner was not disclosed by Miller, various local news sources indicated that the property is linked to Rihanna. Property records reveal that the estate in Beverly Hills is owned by a trust managed by Evan Jehle, a member of Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation advisory board.

Numerous bullet holes in the front gate of the residence were visible in footage shared by KABC-TV. A police dispatcher informed responding officers of ten gunshots originating from a vehicle across the street.

The potential connection between the arrested woman and Rihanna remains unclear. In a separate incident in 2018, a man was charged with breaking into another one of Rihanna’s homes in the Hollywood Hills, where he spent 12 hours. Subsequently, the man pleaded no contest to stalking and vandalism charges and received probation.

Rihanna, a recipient of nine Grammy Awards, boasts 14 Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping hits, such as “We Found Love,” “Work,” “Umbrella,” and “Disturbia.” Additionally, she launched the popular makeup brand Fenty Beauty in 2017. In September, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers.
