Prince George authorities reported that one individual was discovered deceased and another sustained gunshot injuries in the early hours of Tuesday in the central B.C. city. The incident is being treated as a targeted homicide investigation, with one person arrested, although no charges have been filed as yet. The victims were found in a small apartment complex located at 1933 Spruce St., situated on a residential street between 15th Avenue and the Gateway Lodge long-term care home.
Upon arriving at the scene at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, RCMP officers apprehended several individuals in the residence, who were subsequently released without facing charges, according to Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, the media relations officer, as stated in an official press release. The RCMP informed CBC News that the deceased victim succumbed to gunshot wounds.
Authorities believe that the incident was a deliberate act and do not perceive any heightened danger to the general public. They have urged anyone with relevant information to contact 250-561-3300.
