Nicki Minaj Praises Trump at Conservative Event

Published:

Rapper Nicki Minaj surprised attendees at a conservative event in Arizona by praising President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance as “role models” for young men. The event, organized by Turning Point USA and honoring the late activist Charlie Kirk, featured Minaj in an interview with Erika Kirk, where she discussed her newfound support for Trump and her efforts against violence targeting Christians in Nigeria.

Minaj’s recent alignment with the Make America Great Again movement has sparked interest due to her past criticisms of Trump, despite her political views being somewhat ambiguous. Her appearance at the flagship event of the conservative youth organization may solidify her position as a MAGA supporter.

During the event, Minaj took a jab at California Governor Gavin Newsom, playfully referring to him as “New-scum,” a nickname given by Trump. She expressed admiration for Trump and Vance, with the latter receiving an endorsement from Erika Kirk, although he has not confirmed a presidential run.

In a slightly awkward moment, Minaj described Vance as an “assassin” while praising his political acumen, causing a brief pause and murmurs from the audience. However, she quickly clarified her statement and continued the discussion.

Minaj also shared a message from Trump on social media regarding potential actions against Nigeria for failing to address the persecution of Christians. She expressed gratitude for the freedom to worship in the U.S. and was later invited to speak at a panel at the U.S. mission to the United Nations.

During the event, Minaj emphasized the importance of speaking out and standing by one’s beliefs, even in the face of backlash. She dismissed criticism from the entertainment industry, stating that they are not a concern to her. Kirk commended Minaj for her courage and resilience in voicing her support for Trump.

The Trinidadian-born rapper, known for hits like “Super Freaky Girl” and “Anaconda,” has received multiple Grammy nominations throughout her career. In the past, she criticized Trump’s immigration policies, particularly the separation of families at the U.S.-Mexico border. However, Minaj now advocates for the freedom to change one’s opinions, as she highlighted during the event with Erika Kirk.
